The Women

mallorie_women explain

MAL

Make a seat at the table for Mallorie Glowenkie. She is the brains behind the operation that is WE. She grew up in Dallas but damn sure has the Midwest attitude to prove she’s a Chi town native. Mal left Dallas when she realized the Red State lifestyle was not for her. In search of new horizons and broader perspectives, Mal found herself in the heart of DTLA.

A Senior Executive in the tech industry, Mal is basically the HBIC who’s not afraid to take her place in a “man’s world.”

With stories like her 1-day stripping career, sexual orientation discoveries, and an encounter with 2 random grandmas who now lend her their Vegas timeshare on the reg, Mal decided it was time to share and hopefully challenge the norm. Thus, WE was born.

daphne_women+explain

DAPHNE

Make it rain for our only SoCal native, Daphne. Long story short: If you’re sitting at the tip rail and not tipping, get TF out.

Daphne runs the first trans inclusive strip night, Jolene (@otherwomxn). Being trans herself, she’s an activist for queer/SWers rights (what bullshit that we have to abbreviate Sex Work. Sex work is real work, people).

Daphne is here to teach us everything from how to identify a sugar daddy from across the room to why it’s unnecessary to ask her about her “preferred pronouns.” Sometimes woke is not really woke, you know what WE mean?

iris_women+explain

IRIS

Iris Walker. Head turner. Neck breaker. Ass licker. Yeah, you read that right (she has a man though so calm down).

Hailing from DC, Iris is a model and actress. Ironically, Iris didn’t come to Los Angeles to chase “the dream.” She came because her mom submitted her application to FIDM without her knowledge and said, “Go to school and figure it out.” Eventually, Iris figured that the fashion industry was not for her but decided to make the most of her time here — we’re now on 5 years and counting. We love an accidental love story.

Despite her sweet smile, don’t be fooled. Iris won’t hesitate to call you a dusty old mop and drag your misinformed opinions to the ground. Her money-making attitude, strict self-discipline and strong will is what makes her role so pivotal to WE.

hester_women explain

HESTER

Hester is an actress + writer in Los Angeles and likes to think of herself as the little side of kimchi to WE.

Before cohosting WE, Hester was bartending. Actually, she still is but the goal is to not do that anymore. She’s here to knockdown stereotypes (or double down on them. Depends on her mood.)

christy_women explain

CHRISTY

Christy brings the southern flavor to WE. Kind of. She likes to identify herself as the worst Southern person ever, i.e. she hates sweet tea, watermelon and couldn’t care less about SEC football. But don’t get it twisted - she’ll drop it low for Migos one time. Twice if you really hype her up.

Chris works in PR and moved to LA with her boyfriend about a year ago. She ended up going on a blind friend date with Mallorie and quickly fell in love after they both bonded over social issues and what a joke our current president is.

Christy is WE’s social media coordinator and fashion slayer. Her bold opinions and strong stance on basic human rights is what makes her our precious Southern Belle.
